Hammer Hands : Tested & Trusted by Professional and D1 Players and Coaches
Share
I came up with the idea of “Hammer Hands” on my patio and tested the idea by swinging a broomstick in my living room. It became clear to me that I needed the feedback from hitters who were actually playing the game. I didn’t want to make gloves for the “Average Joe.” I wanted gloves that would be used and trusted by baseball’s best! I decided to reach out to the best hitters and coaches that I knew to see if they would be willing to test Hammer Hands. By doing this, Hammer Hands was able to get valuable insight from some of the best hitters in the game, playing at the highest levels. Some examples of the things professionals, D1 players and coaches say about using Hammer Hands:
- “I LOVE how quick my hands feel after hitting with Hammer Hands!”
- “Hammer Hands force me to stay inside the ball.”
- ”The ball EXPLODES off my bat!”
- ”Helps me feel my swing before games.”
- ”My bat felt whippy after using Hammer Hands!”
- ”Hammer Hands help the guys who need to feel less handsy AND they help guys that need to be a bit more active with their hands.”
- ”Hammer Hands help me sync up my swing. Hitting with them helps everything click.”
- “My hands feel stronger at the plate.”
I made changes and adjustments up until the point where I had a pair of weighted gloves that were durable yet comfortable. The premium cabretta leather that we use, gives strength and durability to the overall construct of the glove while providing comfort that literally shapes itself to your hand over time. The heel of the glove has reinforced areas to ensure that common tear areas survive and thrive through training.
In addition to using premium leather, the comfort and usability of the gloves relies on the modular weight system. The modularity of the weights allows for total range of motion during the swing. It is imperative to give the natural feeling of hitting while having the added weight. The metal inside the inserts adds the weight to the glove. In addition to the metal, we added eva foam sheets (used in orthopedic shoe inserts) and rubber to ensure the top of the hand stays cushioned from the metal weights.
The dual wrist-strap gives players the compressed and secure feel around the hand and wrist. Another purpose of the dual wrist-strap is to keep the weights in place during the swing.
Hammer Hands are weighted batting gloves built by players for players. Hammer Hands are a training/warm-up tool designed to provide extreme value to baseball’s most hungry and relentless hitters. We want to be used by the best in the game, that’s why we seek them out for feedback.
